This hose kinks quite easily and stands out in my yard (bright white for boats), but it's solid and does NOT contain lead so I can deal with those small problems.

Most of the hoses on the market contain lead and actually give warning on the label not to use for drinking, pools, gardens, or playing in (spinkler fun or whatever). Believe it or not, the tell you to wash your hans after using the hose. This hose is food grade and one of the few hoses recommended by the FDA.

Northern Industrial Air Hose - 1/4in. x 65ft., Clear, Urethane Review

I'd thought I'd try these(the 65' and 35') because at their price, if they're any good at all, they represent a good alternative to the pricier Coilhose and PUR-Hose models. That, plus I liked the included swivel fittings. After two weeks of heavy use, I'm very pleased. No problems of any type. Since they're available locally through Northern Tool, I'll be buying more. Do note however that fittings differ from norm so you might have to buy additional connectors.

I have a little 2hp air compressor in my garage that is over twenty years old. I still had the air hose that came with it but it had leaks and was getting pretty frayed. I just happened to be looking through a tool catalog one day when I came across this air hose. I checked to see who sold this online and saw that Amazon.com did so I decided to buy it and got the 100 ft. one to replace the old 50 ft. hose. This is the best air hose I have come across and Ive been looking for awhile. What I really like is the flexibility of this air hose and how it doesn't get stiff in cold weather like a cheap garden hose. Midas-Lin #C812-62 FS Aluminum Garden Hose Hanger Review

Reelcraft L-4545-123-7 Spring Driven Cord Reel with 45-Feet of 12/3 Cord and GFCI Dual Outlet Review

Its made by Reelcraft so you know its good. I mean, its like saying "are Snap-On tools any good?"
Unfortunately the latch mechanism it uses to keep the reel from winding back in is a pain to use. I prefer the ratchet 'click click click' style, but this uses a stupid lever with a wheel that drops into a half round detent on the hub. Its kind of hard to explain, but take my word for it, its annoying to use.

So when you pull the cord and want it to stay out you need to s l o w l y.... let it reel back in about a half a rotation before the latch catches and the cord dosent wind up. There is no audible noise to the mechanism and it is easy to bump the wheel past the detent so sometimes you need to try it three or four times. And if you have the cord really extended it becomes even more annoying.

Overall the mechanism is really annoying, but i still like the reel and use it every day. But if i were to order again, id try to get a different model number with a standard reel catch.

Dont buy this hose if you plan to use it for your garden, kiddie pool, dog/cat water bowl, playing in the sprinkler, or pretty much anything fun to do with a hose in the summer... According to the label, it's full of lead and other toxins that cause cancer and birth defects... the marine and boat hoses are your best bet here on amazon. Look for "drinking water safe" or "non toxic" on the description.
