I wanted a decorative aluminum hose reel because I'm sick of dealing with plastic reels that end up cracking, bending, and discoloring over time.This one looks really nice, but it's not very stable.The hardware that came with it did not fit well and several of the pieces are wobbly.Only time will tell if its poor stability will effect its durability.

I didn't buy from the seller on Amazon - my complaint is about the product.it is supposed to take 175' of hose.I put on 100' of 3/4" rubber hose, and it is all I can do to real the thing up.The unit is awkward, has no weight to balance against the weight of the hose, and the handle popped out of its socket almost immediately.Unless your using a really cheap light weight hose, buy something more substantial!

Tahoe 50204210 Compact 150 ft Outdoor Garden Water Hose Reel Cart Review

This reel arrived with corners of carton damaged; hardware was not packedge well & was loose, and hardware was missing; I used my own nuts/screws,etc. You can find a much better one at Lowes for less money & instructions for assembly are better;yoy can find eeven larger & better one at Sam Club for less money. I needed another & with my veteran's discount (all Lowes & Home Depots give 10% vets discount) I bought the one at Lowes even though the one at Sam's was larger for the same money because I did not need one that large 300 ft. of hose).

Very disappointed with the hose reel. Other than being easy to assemble, couldn't find much about it I liked. Hose capacity is overstated, construction is flimsy.
Paid top dollar thinking this might be something that would last a long time, but have the feeling I might be looking for a replacement next spring. Lots of better options available, for a lot less money.

My husband bought this sprayer in early summer 2008.As a full-time fireman, he loves the fireman style nozzle because he's all about dispensing the most water in the least amount of time.The sprayer was used regularly last summer and fall and was used off and on during the winter months.My husband got it out the other day to start spring 2009 watering and it was leaking horribly.He took it apart and there's a piece inside that, according to him, should have been made of metal... not plastic.For as much as these sprayers are, they shouldn't be made of cheap parts... and surely should last more than a couple of seasons--and definitely more than a year!Beware!

Well, at first look this think is awesome. The retractor worked perfect. But then we hooked up the water and it started spewing water like the titanic. At first look it appears the very inexpensive couplings were the problem. The threads are not aligned properly. Then it just blows off and starts shooting water everywhere.
And of course the company has no customer service phone number only an email to the sales dept.

Amazingly high quality solid copper (correction - painted steel!) piece.Better than I was expecting based on the description and picture.Get the real thing for what most places charge for resin or plastic knock offs.Very pretty embossed pattern.Will be getting a second one soon.

Update - further research indicates this is painted steel.Has held up very well in actual use.I appreciate the lid.Looks good and keeps the hoses out of the sun.Still wish it were real copper, but then it would be a lot more money.

I spent a lot of time looking for an auto-retracting 3/8" diameter 100' length hose reel, and found this one to be the best for the money.So far it has not let me down.It's very heavy (~70 lbs), but easy to mount to a wall with 1/2" lag bolts.Quality seems as expected - no complaints.Hose is very flexible and easily retracts all the way.I looked at the levelwind technology reels and after using this reel I feel that the levelwind reel is not necessary.I have not had any problems just letting this reel retract.Note that the hose had a yellow residue on it, so you'll probably want to wipe it down before dragging it through the house.Mine is now clean after running it through my hands a couple times, but the first time my hands were yellow.

A great bonus is the long 8 foot leader hose (Also with brass couplings) as opposed to the 3-4 foot ones you get with other models (With cheap plastic couplings). I'm sure I now have a unit that will last for years!!!
